Mermaid tells Ella and the dolphins about the destruction that threatens her beautiful empire, and they promise to help.

Many events contributed to the creation of this book. Watching the Hanauma Bay coral reef and seeing the blaze of colors of the fish near Honolulu on the island of Oahu. Seeing dolphins gamboling in the ocean. The Key West Aquarium offered a chance to get to know sea turtles that had been injured by vessel strikes or entanglement in fishing gear and saved by treatment.

The manuscript for this book was created in Key West, within a stone´s throw of Ernest Hemingways´s home. As an animal lover, it is easy to find a voice for animals to tell stories from their world - a world that is currently threatened in many ways and the preservation of which, for the joy of future generations is important.

Ella and Mermaid´s Empire is the second book from the author about animals and climate issues. This book, as the first Tinga and her friends at the glacier, are published in English, Swedish and Finnish.
