The contributors, writing from various perspectives within the fields offilm, television, and cultural studies, all touch upon the distinctiveness ofcultural expression and the effects of the migration of cultural commodities acrossnational boundaries. Their essays reveal the complexities and contradictions ofinternational trade and cultural exchange, whether in the growing cultural marketsof China, Brazil, and India or in the two-way flows of largely Anglo-Saxon NorthAtlantic exchanges.
